First, why would you put something in quotations that wasn't even said? I also never said it was about civics. In addition, to correct you - it is NOT a matter of income/wealth that results in this taste, it IS a cultural thing that I've observed around here. I once worked with a very cultured mexican in his late 30's who had a decent level of income. He would show me cars online he was looking at purchasing, and things he liked that were done to such. Included were many of things I outlined in my post that I've found mexicans to like. So I'll repeat, it is not a by-product of class/wealth, my point was and around here the style I was referring to was directed toward a majority of mexicans. Anyone around would agree. Sure, some white, asian, even black kids will have some of that same taste - but it is highly focused in the mexican community. "Mexican hatred"? You are digging yourself a deep hole now. Show me where in any of my posts I expressed a dislike toward mexican people. I didn't. "start a thread about it"? Seriously? The point of my post was to show a couple pics of a wheel I tried on this weekend, the riced out civic I spotted on the freeway was just a bonus for amusement. As for stereotypes - you cannot expect all of them to be of the same level. There would clearly be a difference if I were to say "Hey look at that black guy walking out of best buy, I bet he just stole something" versus "I bet that asian kid in my class is really good at math". There are offensive stereotypes and non offensive stereotypes. I'm not saying my dislike of the vast majority of mexicans' taste in automotive styling would go unnoticed to the right group of people, but this is a car forum and it's relative as such, and I honestly believe the only people it should offend are those that share the same taste of styling as I've outlined as being unacceptable. But even then, any person of any race could take offence, because it's a matter of style, and not race at question. The fact that I said it's mainly mexicans around here that do that to cars is irrelevant, I'm merely pointing out an observation. If I were to say "When I go to a particular costco I see more asian people than whites" am I racist for pointing that out? No, it's simply an observation. Am i sexist for saying I see more women at the mall than men? Hell no. You simply must understand, I wasn't voicing any hatred toward mexicans. There were no racial slurs, no threats, just a humorous observation of a style that is most commonly found in the mexican community. If it were something found equally among all types of people but in one age group, I'd be pointing out that age group. But then of course you'd find a way to call me agist, or something to that effect.
